The tourism industry of Davao Region got another boost with the launching of AirAsia’s Clark-Davao flight. The launching was historic as this is the country’s first-ever flight from Clark International Airport in Pampanga to Davao International Airport.

AirAsia is a Malaysia-based budget airline company. This is the company’s first venture into domestic flights in the country.

The airline company used a brand new Airbus 320 in the maiden flight with 143 guests on board.

Aside from the inaugural flight, a signing of the Davao-Clark Sister Airport agreement was also done during the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry 3rd General Membership Meeting at the Marco Polo Hotel Davao signaling a stronger partnership and connectivity between Clark and Davao City.

Both Clark and Davao host an international airport with a great number of visitors visiting each year. This positive development will certainly open new job opportunities and enhance business activities between the two areas.

Aside from Clark-Davao route, the airline also launched the Clark-Kalibo and the Clark-Puerto Princesa flights respectively.
