British Aerospace, one of the leading names in the global aviation industry has expressed its interest to invest in the Philippines as site of its $40-M Asian manufacturing facility.

The head of the Board of Investments (BOI) disclosed that the British aerospace company has assured the Philippines as the preferred site of its manufacturing facility of galleys and other items of future Airbus aircrafts.

British Aerospace designs and manufactures new generations of passenger aircraft most especially the Airbus 380. The company is also engaged in building business jet and military aircrafts.

Among the possible locations are the Hijo Port town which is already accredited by the Philippine Export Processing Zone (PEZA), Santa Cruz town and Digos City in Davao del Sur.

The planned manufacturing facility would produce galleys and other components for the next generation of Airbus planes.
