International coffee shop Starbucks is set to open its first branch in Davao. Once operational, it will be the fifth Starbucks store outside Metro Manila.

Aside from Metro Manila, Starbucks has already established its presence in many Philippine locations namely Cebu, Bacolod, Boracay and Palawan.

Starbucks hits the Philippine shores in December 1997. Since then, it has grown to be one of the country’s popular coffee brands especially in Metro Manila where Starbucks stores are concentrated.

Abreeza Mall, which is still under construction, is the future location of the first Starbucks shop in Davao City.

All popular coffee blends and services of Starbucks will be available once the store is opened. It is also planning to open three more stores in the city.

Starbucks is one of popular brands that first to grab a location in the highly-awaited shopping mall. Abreeza Shopping Mall is already 70 to 75 percent leased out as of this month.

The entry of Starbucks stores in Davao is made possible with the partnership between Starbucks and Ayala Corp. This coffee shop has currently 162 coffee shops in the Philippines as of February this year.
