Abreeza Mall Davao Job Fair on January 25-26
Comments: 17 CommentsThe Accendo Commercial Group in partnership with the City Government of Davao and PESO Davao will be having a two-day job fair that will run from January 25 to 26, 2011 at the Almendras Gymnasium.
The event is in preparation for the opening of Abreeza Mall this coming May 2011. Robinsons Retail Group is just one of the merchants who will be present in the job fair.
It is recommended that applicants must dress smartly and bring extra copies of resume and other necessary documents.

Araw ng Dabaw Celebration
Davao City is celebrating its 73rd Anniversary with this year’s theme “Katatagan ay Kapangyarihan: Pagpapatibay at Pagdiriwang” (Stability is Power: Affirmation and Celebration!) and is commemorated every 16th day of the month of March. This annual celebration upholds the unity of every people of Davao. Numerous activities are inline as a way of celebrating the city’s charter anniversary.
Different and exciting events are scheduled to give fun and remarkable experience to the people of Davao and visitors. Major activities are as follows:
Mutya Ng Dabaw Coronation
The five finalists were finally chosen to vie for the prestigious Mutya ng Dabaw 2010 crown. The said candidates will compete for the titles Sinag ng Dabaw, Patnubay ng Dabaw, Pag-asa ng Dabaw, Diwa ng Dabaw and the 2010 Mutya ng Dabaw.

Davao Celebrates Kadayawan 2009
Comments: No CommentsDavao City is now all set for its annual celebration of the Kadayawan festival with this year’s theme “Nahiusang Katawhan Nakigdait sa Kalibutan” (“One People in Communion with the Earth”). The heritage land of the indigenous people has always been that significant through time. Davao as a homeland of these indigenous people served as the land where their existence evolved and it nestled in the Southern part of the Philippines. This celebration expresses gratitude for the gift of nature, richness of culture, tranquility of the land and for the bountiful harvests. It also strengthens the solidarity despite of trials and other disturbances. It proves that through the years, Davao still preserves its cultural heritage. Thus, continue to progress while paying tribute to the indigenous groups which has made Davao as the core of their existence. Due to the alarming climate change, this celebration awakens the people of Davao to be responsible to the call of time. And the Kadayawan of Davao 2009 is the reason of celebrating.
This year’s celebration has two main components:
1. Lumadnong Kasaulugan (Indigenous People’s Festival). This is the main part of the Kadayawan Festival.
2. Subay sa Lumadnong Kagikan (Contemporary Indigenous-motivated Celebrations). This event showcases the talent and skills of artists and communities that projects the culture and tradition of the indigenous people.
This celebration is headed by the Executive Committee, Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte, along with private sector co-chairman Lorenzo Te Jr.

The ten tribes of Davao City namely the Ata Manobo, Ubo Manobo, K’lata, Tagabawa, Matigsalog, Maranao, Maguindanao, Tausug, Sama and Kalagan celebrate their oneness despite of the diversity by thanksgiving and showcasing great performances.
