At least two big names in the call center industry have signified their interest to set up an operation in Davao City giving another boost to the growing local Business Process Outsourcing industry. This was disclosed by Information and Communication (ICT) Davao City board adviser Andrei Fournier.
The said two call centers are among the big time players in the country’s ICT sector employing thousand of employees in different sites in Manila. Among the top call center players in the country are Accenture, e-Telecare, Sykes Asia and People Support.
The Abreeza Mall which is under construction and newly-opened Robinsons Cybergate in Lanang are just some of the possible locations.
Andrei Fournier also stated that these two call centers are expected to locate in Davao City during the last quarter of this year.
Today, call centers and other Business Process Outsourcing services in Davao City have generated 60,000 jobs and the number is expected to increase further as more and more multinational companies now realizing the potential of Davao in the ICT sector.
Davao city ranked number four as an ICT destination in the latest survey. It also belongs to the “Next Wave Cities” – cities that are locator-ready outside Metro Manila for BPO-related investments.
