Xiamen Airlines Starts Davao-Xiamen flight

The Xiamen Airlines made a maiden flight on Wednesday, September 28 carrying Chinese businessmen from Xiamen, China.

A water canon salute greeted the Xiamen jet upon landing at the Davao International Airport.

A second test flight is scheduled on October 5 and it is currently priced at around $330-400 per seat, one way.

Chinese visitors rank fourth among foreign tourists visiting Davao with around 10,000 recorded visitors from January to March 2016, according to the Department of Tourism data.

The Xiamen-Davao flight is expected to boost tourism industry of Davao.

Davao International Airport also has direct flights between Davao and Singapore.

    This is good for tourism sector. I heard PAL is keen on opening international flights from Davao.

    This is really nice! I am excited to see Davao-Australia and Davao-Korea since the number of Australian and Korean tourists visiting Davao is growing. If we can have Davao to Russia that would be awesome too as Russians are high spenders when it comes to travel.
